"Since 2006, more than 60,000 people have been killed in DTO-related violence, and more than 26,000 have gone missing. The violence has spread from rural Mexico to major cities like Guadalajara and Mexico City, where, this May, armed men kidnapped 12 young people from a nightclub. All is on display on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It's like peering at a gossip magazine for the underground rich and famous as they hide from the law.

He has eluded law enforcement since 2001 when he escaped from a Mexican prison in a laundry truck and officials issued a  $7 million bounty on his head.

Professionally, he coordinates the distribution of cocaine, methamphetamines, marijuana and heroin across Mexico and the United States. A recent post published in Univision Noticias shows his personal life as full of romantic entanglements and turmoil. Here we examine El Chapo and his women."

"Chapo Guzman, Mexico's most powerful drug dealer, may be the most important financial force behind Colombia's revolutionary group FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia), according to Univision. The Spanish-language news site reports that the guerilla organization is the biggest source of cocaine for the Sinaloa Cartel. FARC has been using the port at El Valle del Cauca to transport drugs to Mexico, funded of course by El Chapo. When you consider that 48 percent of Colombia's cocaine crops are controlled by FARC, it becomes apparent that El Chapo may play as big a role in the Colombian drug trade as he does in Mexico."
